Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty (Safeguards) training
We start from the belief that the Mental Capacity Act 2005 is there to enable people to make decisions about their own lives if they can - even if their decision might be unwise. The training ranges from basic awareness sessions (aimed at beginners) to much more advanced sessions (aimed at experienced professionals who are already very familiar with the legislation).
The training is constantly updated to reflect new approaches and new cases that have been heard in the Court of Protection (or higher courts).
Our current (2023) contracts for MCA/DoLS training include Norfolk County Council, Portsmouth City Council, Halton Borough Council, Oxfordshire County Council, London Borough of Havering, London Borough of Hounslow, London Borough of Newham, London Borough of Sutton, London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, Westminster City Council, Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, Hampshire County Council, Carmarthenshire Council, Birmingham City Council, Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, BCP Council, Kent County Council, Perthyn, Octavia Group and Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing, as well as numerous ad hoc sessions for statutory, private, voluntary and independent organisations all over England and Wales.
