Moving and Handling (of People)
A half- or (preferably) one-day training session to give participants an understanding of what moving and handling (manual handling) is all about. NB: this session covers the handling of people – usually service users who find it difficult to move about independently. We have an alternative course called “Moving and Handling (of objects)” which relates to the handling of inanimate objects.
This session can also be used as a refresher – we usually find that half a day is sufficient for this. You can of course have two half days in the same day.
Anyone working in a health and/or social care setting. The session is tailored around the specific needs of the participant group, using where appropriate the aids and equipment that they themselves use in their everyday work.
