Safeguarding Adults and Mental Capacity Act training in Norfolk

Norfolk County Council Training

St Thomas Training is the official provider of training in Safeguarding Adults and in the Mental Capacity Act 2005 on behalf of Norfolk County Council and the Norfolk Safeguarding Adults Board.

Please note: this training is available to employees of Norfolk County Council, and to employees and volunteers of partner organisations (ie other health and social care organisations) in the county of Norfolk.

Courses are free for staff who work in Norfolk County Council Adult Social Services, and for unpaid volunteers. There is a small charge for paid employees of partner organisations (from 1st April 2025 – £30.00 including VAT for half days, £60.00 including VAT for full days, and £120.00 including VAT for 2-day courses.)

And if you book two places at the same time you get a third free.

Norfolk County Council employees who want to clarify what training they have done should log into Oracle. If you want to check what training is mandatory for your role then log into MyNet. Any queries about this should be emailed to aclearn@norfolk.gov.uk for advice. St Thomas Training does not have access to NCC’s training records.

Mental Capacity Act Advanced Practice - Learning Lessons from Court of Protection Cases (CPD for experienced staff) - (Open to experienced professionals in any health or social care setting (eg hospitals, social work teams, residential or community care, GP surgeries etc). This is the annual CPD refresher session for people who have done all the other Mental Capacity Act training within Norfolk. The content changes each year on 1st April so it's an excellent way to keep your practice and knowledge bang up to date.
